Pray For Life

Today is the holiday of Purim on which Megillas Esther is read. It is the only book in the bible which does not mention G-d.

One of the major lessons of this holiday is that G-d is always present, even if he is not always evident. A second major lesson is that prayer works.

We live in an age of self-centeredness of which blogging is one of the obvious manifestations. Is it any wonder that we can't perceive G-d when we are so focused on ourselves. Maybe now is a good time to make a little room for G-d.

We are on the verge of the next battle in a tragic war. Whether we agree with this particular military action or not, we all want to save lives. Let us pray that this battle is completed quickly and with a minimum loss of lives.
